Donald E. “Don” Barnhart, 56, died at 12:05pm May 21, 2017, at his residence following an extended battle with cancer. He was born September 20, 1960, in Ross County to Willard E. and Sharon Kay (Knecht) Barnhart. On November 18, 1995, he married Jacki E Dozer, who survives. Also surviving is his daughter, Alexandrea “Lexi” Barnhart, Londonderry; step-children Lani (Damian) Fisher, also of Londonderry; Christopher Barton, of Texas; his mother Sharon Barnhart Bosworth, Chillicothe; grandchildren: Brock, Megan and Jameson Fisher; his sister Rebecca “Becky” (Greg) Pummill, Chillicothe; a half-brother Willard (Kelly) Barnhart, Chillicothe; sister-in-law Vicki (Jim) Richmond, Londonderry; brother-in-law Eric Dozer, Londonderry; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father and his step-father Paul Bosworth.
- Don was a graduate of Eastern High School, Beaver, OH, and served his country in the US Army. He retired from Glatfelter following over 28 years as a boiler engineer. He was a member of the steel workers union, local 731, where he had served as treasurer. Don also was an amateur radio operator belonging to the Scioto Valley Amateur Radio Club, call sign KD8HHG.
